[New Volunteer Recruitment] Passing on Love and Care, Working Together for the Future

Jan 25, 2025

This year, I am the Future Volunteer Team has made “new volunteer recruitment” a key focus, aiming to continue spreading love and care for new immigrants and underprivileged children. We hope to inspire more people to join this meaningful cause.

As the event took place just before the Lunar New Year holiday, we conducted it virtually. Despite the physical distance, everyone’s enthusiasm and dedication remained strong, truly embodying the spirit of volunteerism.

A heartfelt thank you to all the students from different schools who participated! Your involvement makes our team even stronger. We look forward to meeting in person soon and working together to bring more hope and warmth to the children in need.

[National Taiwan University Children's Hospital] Christmas Music and DIY Event

On December 23rd, the I am the Future volunteer team participated in the joyful Christmas event, “Happy Christmas, Kids Come Play,” a series of festive activities held at National Taiwan University Children’s Hospital. Through music and hands-on activities, the event aimed to bring warmth and joy to the children, creating a delightful Christmas experience. The program featured wonderful performances of viola and piano music, elegant ballroom dance, and fun hands-on activities such as crafting Christmas gift boxes and adorable reindeer figures. These activities allowed the children to immerse themselves in the festive atmosphere, enjoying the fun of creation and performance. The event aimed to help them temporarily forget their pain, feel the blessings and joy of Christmas, and offer a moment of relaxation for their spirits. It also hoped to create a warm, joyful Christmas filled with laughter, love, and beautiful memories for the children.

[New Residents of Bail in New Taipei City] Charity Concert

In the afternoon, we arranged a special experience for the children of the Bali New Residents Care Association in New Taipei City. It was their first formal concert in life—The "Viola and Piano Charity Concert" performed by Josh Ji and Lindsey Liaw. In addition to enjoying the delightful music, the children also learned the following important etiquette: 1.Dress appropriately. 2.Use the restroom before the performance begins or during intermission to avoid leaving the venue during the performance. 3.No photos, talking, or walking around during the performance. 4.Do not applaud between movements; wait until the entire piece has finished before applauding. 5.Read the program booklet to understand the schedule and content of the performance.

We are honored to collaborate with Chairwoman Wu Shih-Fang Heng of the Bāli New Residents Care Association in New Taipei City, leading the children of new immigrants on a visit to the National Palace Museum. This visit coincided with the "Great Beauty in Silence" exhibition, a collaborative event organized by the National Palace Museum in partnership with the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and Van Cleef & Arpels. The exhibition showcases a curated selection of treasured collections from the three institutions, including ceramics, jade, home decor, porcelain, clothing, sculpture, graphic art, jewelry, and timepieces.
